Batik Wall Hanging |
I never expected to spend
more than four years in an engineering building, especially when my major is,
still, health science
I was very delighted
for the pleasant surprises the universe has in store for me
There were a lot of happy
memories
There were numerous serendipitous
encounters to meet people who, many of them, remained socially connected up to
now. I learn a lot from those people and hope there was something they can
learn from me
Even though my first
month in Ireland was a little hectic with me being contracted smallpox, I had
another serendipity moment. I got the opportunity to commemorate W.B. Yeats’
100th birthday.
It was a great way to
introduce me to Irish culture. A culture that I like so much to the point
where I wrote one of W.B.Yeats’ poems at the end of my thesis
That, I suppose, was the
wrapped-up of my breathtaking adventure in the land of the Leprechaun
Something that inspires
me to write this short piece to paint a vivid mental picture of Ireland and all
the memories I have associated with it
This hand-made wall
hanging was a symbol of Ireland and Indonesia friendship with shamrock and
harps represent Ireland. The batik frame and natural dyeing process represent
Indonesia
May the relationship
will get stronger in the future
I assume this is goodbye with one foot out the door
I’m not sure what the future holds for us, but I hope our
paths will cross again. Till then, may we all stay healthy, safe, and joyful
